News archive - COST open call: deadline approaching

The next closing date for the COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) open call for proposals is rapidly approaching. Researchers wishing to propose actions that would contribute to the scientific, technological, economic, cultural or societal development of Europe are invited to do so before September 30, 2007.

COST finances networking between nationally-funded activities. For example, it supports meetings, conferences, short-term scientific exchanges and outreach activities, all of which are known as 'Actions'. Grants usually amount to around 100,000 euro per annum for four years.

Applicants for COST funding must be engaged in a research programme in an institution of a COST member state.

COST is managed by the European Science Foundation (ESF) and receives funding from the European Commission under the research framework programmes.
