The overall aim of the NFP is to help alleviate qualitative and quantitative shortages of skilled manpower within a wide range of governmental, private and non-governmental organizations. This by offering fellowships to mid-career professionals to improve the capacity of their employing organizations. The need for training has to be evident within the context of an organization.

Target group and priorities

The NFP is for mid-career professionals who are nationals of and working and living in one of the NFP countries. The country list cludes Albania, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Kosovo (under UNSCR 1244), the FYR of Macedonia and 56 other countries worldwide.

Employer support

The need for education and training must be linked to the institutional development of the organization the applicant is working for. This means that any applicant must be nominated by his or her employer. In fact, applications without employer support will not be considered.
