News archive - IEV Programme Committee Awards PhD and Master Scholarship in Innovation Economics

The Innovation Economics Vienna Knowledge and Talent Development Programme (IEV) serves the purpose to stimulate high quality research in the field of innovation economics with particular emphasis on PhD work. The IEV Programme Committee now invites applicants for a PhD and Master scholarship in innovation economics.

Deadline: September 12, 2010.

The PhD candidates should show promise of establishing a solid research publication record in their area of specialization. Experience in innovation economics and/or related fields is required as is experience in multivariate data analysis is desirable. They must have completed their Master studies or equivalent. The Programme Committee is especially interested in candidates who have a growing or promising research record and interest in working in a multidisciplinary environment. IEV offers excellent research support, and is located in the heart of Europe. The partner organisations WU and AIT provide an ideal setting for research.

Applications

In line with the IEV Programme, two calls are announced  per year including ten scholarships for master theses and three doctorate grants. Those scholarships are paid in form of a freelance service contract. Master students are limited to a timeframe of 6 months for € 357 gross each and doctorate candidates to 3 years with € 1500 gross per month.

Target Audience

Applicants are expected in engange in an intensive discussion of the chosen research question at the level of international scientific standards. This implicates additional work and expense and demands the willingness to take part in the discussion of the scientific community.

Candidates should be looking forward to a scientific career at a university, applied research institutions or be willed to transcript their consolidated findings in politics or commerce. As a result of intensive mentoring, graduates will have the ability, to work independently at the level of highest international standards and to build the foundation for a successful scientific career.
