News archive - When will the first FP7 calls open?

The European Commission has announced the date of the opening of the first FP7 calls for proposals under the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7): December 22, 2006!
The calls will be published at http://cordis.europa.eu/fp7/calls_en.html.

FP7 is reaching the end of its adoption process as the European Parliament is expected to decide upon it on November 30 but the European Commission has now already announced the day when the first calls for proposals will open: December 22, 2006. Deadlines can then be expected (of course depending on the programme) in April / May.

The announcement was made by José Manuel Silva Rodríguez, Director General of DG Research at a briefing session in which he also outlined once more how the objectives of FP7 have been grouped into research themes; 'Cooperation'. 'Ideas'. 'People' and 'Capacities'. The Seventh Framework Programme will be fully operational as of January 1 and will expire in 2013.
