News archive - Croatia joined HERA (ERA-NET on Humanities in the European Research Area)
The Republic of Croatia is one of the thirteen European countries to join the HERA, EU 6th Framework Programme ERA-NET project. The participation of Croatia in HERA will enable Croatian scientists to participate in fundamental research in the humanities.
Within the preparatory activities Croatian scientists expressed great interest for HERA by largely applying for grants for the HERA Matchmaking Event that took place in Paris in April 2008, and for HERA Networking Grants. In order to promote the HERA among humanities scientists a few workshops are planned in the near future.
The Call for Proposals for two large HERA Joint Research Programmes (HERA JRP) – Cultural dynamics and Humanities as a Source of Creativity and Innovation will be opened at the beginning of 2009.
Financial contribution for HERA is assigned by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Sports of the Republic of Croatia and the Croatian coordinator for HERA is the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
