News archive - Serbian EURAXESS portal launched – Provisioning integrated services for mobile researchers
In 2008, the European Commission started an initiative for re-branding the overall efforts aiming at development of open, transparent and attractive labor market for researchers in Europe. It is expected that, by creating a global brand name – EURAXESS, and visual identity for the European Researcher’s Mobility Portal, the ERA-MORE network, the Charter & Code and ERA-Link, awareness amongst the main target groups, such as researchers, universities, research institutes, companies employing researchers, political authorities, etc. will be strengthened.
One of the goals of this initiative is to enable the provision of singular user experience of the mobile researcher, whether incoming, outgoing or returning to any of the countries from the EURAXESS network. This is expected to be achieved by implementing a unique look and feel into all national EURAXESS portals.
One of the first national portals embracing the new visual identity and providing the integrated services to its visitors was the Serbian EURAXESS portal. It was developed by the national bridgehead organization - the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Niš and launched on January 1, 2009.
The portal offers a wide range of information and online services to mobile researchers from Serbia planning to develop their careers in the heart of European Research Area or from abroad, wishing to taste the special excitement of doing research in Western Balkans.
At this moment, researchers can find practical information on entering and living in Serbia, search and browse through extensive database of R&D organisations in Serbia, find the right person to talk about their personal problems, dilemmas and impressions of coming or being in Serbia, develop their careers by finding the right jobs, fellowships or grants throughout Europe, fine tune their decisions by going through extensive database offering practical information on European countries. Moreover, the portal provides extensive online news coverage of activities and events, performed or organized in scope of development of national researchers’ mobility network, as well as online facilities for registration and surveying of mobile researchers.
