Registration is now open for graduate (and senior undergraduate) students and researchers: the Olympia 2012 Summer Seminars in Conflict and Peace Studies, scheduled to take place in Olympia, Greece (July 2012), featuring a group of leading scholars from around the world and organized by Yale’s Program on Order, Conflict and Violence and Greek universities. The 2012 programme will offer four cycles of study. A number of scholarships are offered on the basis of merit and need.

How to apply & Financial Aid: Please download the application form from the web www.olympiaseminars.org and submit electronically by March 31, 2012. However, those seeking financial aid should submit their application by March 15, 2012. Places are limited and will be awarded on merit. Early applications are strongly encouraged, especially if a request for financial aid is submitted, as aid is limited.

Since the Summer of 2000, Olympia has been hosting with growing success, an annual, international graduate summer program in comparative politics and international relations. Thanks to the collaboration of Greek Universities with Yale’s University’s Program on Order, Conflict and Violence, the hospitality of the city of Ancient Olympia and the generosity of Greek foundations, the Olympia Summer Seminars bring together every year a highly diverse and talented group of graduate students, professionals and professors from more than 30 countries from around the world. The purpose of the seminars is to create a forum for high quality academic work in the unique setting of Olympia and to provide opportunities for the creation and the consolidation of scholarly networks of cooperation. The Olympia Summer Seminars are organized by the Navarino Network, a public policy initiative, based inThessaloniki, with the support of numerous universities and foundations, including Yale University, the Institute ofInternational Relations at Panteion University of Athens and several European Research Consortia, i.e. Microcon in 2008 and 2010 and TAMNEAC in 2012. The seminars have been generously sponsored by the A.G. Leventis Foundation and in the past by the National Bank of Greece and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece.
