News archive - S&T Cooperation between Croatia and Serbia: Second session of the Joint Commission

In the framework of Memorandum on the initiation of program of scientific-technological cooperation between the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Serbia, the Second Session of the Croatian-Serbian Joint Commission for Scientific and Technological Cooperation was held on 27 and 28 October 2008 in Zagreb.

The Joint commission agreed that the next tender for the submission of projects would be announced by April 1, 2009.

The Serbian delegation was headed by Viktor Nedović, PhD, Assistant Minister for International Scientific and Technological Cooperation within the Ministry of Science of the Republic of Serbia.and Croatian delegation was headed by Mrs. Ivana Puljiz, Director of the Directorate for International Cooperation and European Integration within the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports of the Republic of Croatia.

Starting from the need to support the scientific and technological cooperation based on mutual interest, while respecting national priorities in the sphere of scientific and technological development of both countries, the Protocol of the Second Session of the Mixed Commission for Scientific and Technological Cooperation was agreed on and signed between two countries.

The Joint Commission has established that there have been 45 applications from Serbia and 46 from Croatia respectively, among which 21 projects were accepted for co-financing by both countries.

The institutions responsible for the implementation of the approved scientific research projects will finance the exchange of scientists, experts and researchers, and the exchange of scientific and technological information and documentation.
