News archive - Presentations of the Mediterranean Info Day on SSH Available Online

An information day on Socio-economic Sciences and Humanities, especially dedicated to interested parties from the mediterranean countries, took place on October 29, 2009.

It was jointly organised by nine “Socio-economic sciences and Humanities” National Contact Points - including the ones from Croatia, Montenegro and Serbia - in cooperation with the European Commission, the Italian Ministry of Research, the University of Venice Cá Foscari (that hosted the event) and in coordination with NET4SOCIETY (the network of SSH NCPs).

The event aimed at presenting the new call for the Work Programme 2010 on "Socio-economic Sciences and Humanities" and at informing the European scientific community about the research challenges envisaged within the Socio-economic sciences and Humanities domains for the future and the new approach that the Commission planned for the research.

The strategic aspects of research projects such as communication, foresight and stock taking were illustrated, along with the dimension that the Directorate "Science, Economy and Society" of DG Research underlines as strategic: the professionalisation of management in the research. Two best practices of management by European researchers were also presented and the point of view of an evaluator, that could help the researchers to draft clearer and more focused proposals, closed the day.

All presentations held at the information day are now available for download.
