Preparation for a Eureka Western Balkans multilateral call 2023-24 ongoing
Currently, a Eureka Western Balkan Call for projects is being discussed which should lead to the creation of collaborative Eureka projects related to developing innovative products and services. Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, and Montenegro have already confirmed their interest and commitment to participate, and joining of additional "Eureka countries" is being discussed. This initiative is building on cooperation with COST and the previous Eureka Danube Call 2022.
The plan is to launch the Eureka Network call before the end of 2023 and close at the beginning of 2024. The objective is to promote cooperation with partners from the Western Balkans (i.e. proposals need to include at least one partner from the region).
Network projects is Eureka’s original, flexible, bottom-up cooperation programme. National funding bodies can initiate or opt into calls for projects according to national priorities and budget, and the programme allows for any additional rules and eligibility and evaluation assessments.
Eureka supports projects with a civilian purpose, based on international collaboration between organisations based in two or more Eureka countries, implementing R&D of a new product, process or service that is market-oriented. Participating organisations decide the focus of their research.
