Five new projects approved under the 5th Extraordinary Call
Interreg ADRION Programme will fund five (5) new projects under the 5th Extraordinary Call for Proposals. Around MEUR 4,10 (3,1 ERDF and 0,97 IPA) will support their upcoming activities. The ADRION Monitoring Committee following the administrative and quality assessment process, has selected the approved project proposals for funding under conditions.
The selected projects will develop preparatory measures for the activation of joint Master Programmes to be running in the 2021-2027 period. The beneficiaries are universities, research centers and business institutions aiming to raise competences and skills in domains considered of strategic relevance for the Adriatic-Ionian programme area:
1. Blue Economy
2. Social Innovation
3. Renewable Energy
4. Circular Economy.
Selected projects, addressing all specific topics, will implement their activities across a nine-months period.

1. MARBLE
Innovative Joint master Programme “Maritime Robotics in Blue Economy”
The Project aims to raise competences and skills in maritime robotics application in the domain of blue economy. Joint trainings organized by a network of universities, research organizations, business clusters, and a digital innovation hub will be implemented in order to achieve this goal.

2. TESI
Joint Master Programme on Social Innovation for a more inclusive and sustainable society
The project looks at promoting education on social innovation by supporting innovative solutions towards processes of empowerment and bottom-up participation, addressing contemporary social challenges in public administration’s governance, urban regeneration, social entrepreneurship, welfare, migration.

1. ADRION TRAINEE
A joint “Master’s Degree in Renewable Energy”
Project’s overall objectives is to raise multidisciplinary competencies and skills on the topic of Renewable Energy, to lay down the basis for enhanced cooperation between EU and IPA countries, while encouraging the effective use of future EU funds for research and innovation in renewable energy.

ADRION master on Circular Economy and Bioeconomy
The project will enhance the capacity of partners to develop solutions and knowledge, develop a joint academic path, aimed at training and introducing on the market new expertise on Circular Economy and Bioeconomy, and promote this new academic path to considerably increase the capacity of universities and business to produce expertise solutions.

3. CRESCENTO
Joint Master’s Programme on Circular Economy
CRESCENTO’s aim is to develop Joint Master’s programme to be undertaken by at least 2 Universities and an internship of up 6 months to business / research partners. To achieve this, regulatory frameworks in different countries will be analyzed, a common strategy and an action plan of detailed actions will follow, in order to guide the effective implementation of the Programme in cooperation areas.

Additional information on the 5th Extraordinary Call for Proposals
The 5th Extraordinary Call for proposals was launched on 7 June 2022, addressed to Priority Axis 1 and 2. All interested eligible applicants had to submit project proposals referring only to one of the topics of the call.
The call focused on some of the topics of strategic relevance for both the ADRION Programme and the EUSAIR Macro-regional strategy, will also contribute to preparing the ground for further cooperation between EU and IPA countries and encourage the effective use of future EU funds in the domain of research and innovation.
The implementation of the joint master programmes accredited by the respective universities will take place in the 2021-2027 programming period and will get further financial support; the projects successfully complying with the goals of the present call shall be considered as strategic and granted in the 2021-2027 IPA ADRION Programme.
