News archive - UNSA representatives presented Open Access and Open Science trends at the University of Sarajevo at the event organized by UNIBL within NI4OS Europe project
On 28 November 2022, representatives of the University of Sarajevo participated in the event titled “The Future of Open Science in Bosnia and Herzegovina”, where improvements in the field of Open Science were presented by public universities in the country. The event emphasized the importance of Open Science for the academic community which was confirmed and supported by the representatives of the relevant ministries who also took part in the discussions.
The event was held at the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Banja Luka with the aim to gather and exchange information on the activities undertaken by public universities in order to establish basic principles of Open Access to science and research infrastructure. Specifically, in the case of the University of Sarajevo, as one of the partners in the POLICY ANSWERS project (R&I POLICY making, implementation ANd Support in the WEsteRn BalkanS), four-year long work and activities on the preparation and adoption of strategic documents, which are considered the basis for establishing Open Access to science and infrastructure, were presented. These include the Intellectual Property Management Policy at UNSA, the Rulebook on the Management of Intellectual Property at UNSA, and the Policy on Open Access to Research Infrastructure at UNSA. In addition, other important activities and memberships in various consortia related to Open Science were pointed out, such as membership in the DARIAH - Digital Research Infrastructure for the Arts and Humanities, RESILIENCE – Research infrastructure in Religious Studies, and initiative to participate in Consortium of European Social Science Data Archives (CESSDA) and European Social Survey (ESS).
