The first call of the Interreg Danube Region Programme 2021-2027 was just launched and is seeking ideas to make the DanubeRegion smarter, greener, more social & to improve regional governance for tackling our shared challenges.
Submit your expression of interest by 21 November 2022!
The first call for proposals of the Interreg Danube Region Programme is open from 29 September 2022 till 21 November 2022, 14:00 hours CET. This call targets programme priorities 1,2, 3 and specific objective 4.2:
- A smarter Danube Region
- A greener, low-carbon Danube Region
- A more social Danube Region
- A better cooperation governance: 4.2 Increased institutional capacities for territorial and macroregional governance
Applicants are requested to submit an Expression of Interest through programme's online monitoring system, Jems, by 14:00 CET on 21 November 2022. No additional supporting documents are to be delivered at this stage.
In order to submit a successful Expression of Interest, applicants are invited to consult call documents and participate in events organised in the framework of the call launch. You can find them on web page dedicated to the first call.

The call is organised in two steps:
First step with the expression of interest (EoI) outlining mainly the intervention logic of the proposal and the strategic relevance for the DRP submitted through the programme monitoring system (Jems). No additional documents are requested to be submitted in this step.
Second step with the submission of the completed application form (AF) with the required Annexes through the programme monitoring system (Jems). Applicants can only submit the completed application form (with its required Annexes) in the second step, if the proposal was pre-selected in the first step phase.
Major novelties in DRP 2021-2027:
- EU contribution to projects is 80%
- Use of Interreg funds (ERDF, IPA and NDICI funds are pooled together in a single pot)
- Lead Partners can be both from EU and non-EU countries (exception: Ukrainian organisations can participate in the 1st call for proposals only as project partners)
