News archive - [Event Announcement] Regional Policy Dialogue on the Western Balkans: Tax Policy Reforms to Get Ready for the Future
The OECD South East Europe (SEE) Regional Programme is pleased to invite you to the Regional Policy Dialogue on the Western Balkans: Tax Policy Reforms to Get Ready for the Future, which will be held virtually on Wednesday, 13 April 2022 from 10h00 to 12h30 (CET).
The third SEE Competitiveness Outlook assessment launched in July 2021 highlighted the region’s progress on tax policies, specifically the increasing co-operation on international tax initiatives such as the joining of the Inclusive Framework on base erosion and profit shifting (BEPS) and implementation of the Multilateral Convention to Implement Tax Treaty Related Measures to Prevent BEPS. Nevertheless, challenges concerning tax avoidance and evasion efforts remain, for which the WB6 economies could benefit from further co-ordination and collaboration.
The objective of this meeting will be to present the latest international trends and discuss how those policy measures could be implemented to reform tax policies in line with the OECD and EU standards. The webinar will also shed light on good practices and experience from OECD/EU members who have recently undergone reforming their own tax policies. To this end, the meeting will bring together Competitiveness Outlook 2021 tax policy co-ordinators, tax administration, ministry of finance and ministry of economy representatives from SEE, as well as other policy-makers and technical experts from the relevant ministries in the Western Balkans and OECD/EU member states. For more information, please find the meeting agenda attached.
The meeting will take place via Zoom and advance registration is required to join the meeting. To register, please click the link on the agenda or below. Please also see the attached meeting instructions and guidelines document for more information on the technical details of the virtual meeting.

Please feel free to share this invitation with your team or any relevant colleagues. We would much appreciate if you (and your colleagues intending to join the meeting) could register before Friday, 8 April 2022.
