10th International Stakeholder Conference of EUSDR Priority Area 9 "People & Skills"

We are pleased to announce that the 10th International Stakeholder Conference of EUSDR PA9 will be held on 9 June 2022 in Vienna and online:

“Young People in Times of Crisis:

Building Responsive Education, Training and Labour Market Systems in the Danube Region”

Date: Thursday, 9 June 2022, 9:00-17:00 CET

Venue: Flemings Conference Hotel (Neubaugürtel 26-28, 1070 Vienna), Vienna, Austria and online

Format: The conference will be held in English and no interpretation will be provided. Participants may attend in person in Vienna or follow the conference online.

The conference will be hosted by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Labour and the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research, with co-funding from the European Regional Development Fund.

Recognizing the role of young people for the future of Europe, the EU has designated 2022 as the European Year of Youth. Young people have been heavily affected by current crises, such as the war in Ukraine, the COVID-19 pandemic and climate change. Challenges arising from these crises include disruptions to education and labour market systems and the need to ensure that no one is left behind: from young people with learning losses to those not in education, employment or training, refugees, and young people from marginalized groups. Young people also play a key role in supporting the digital and green transition.

How can we build responsive education, training and labour market systems and empower young people in the Danube Region? What challenges may be tackled jointly within Priority Area 9 "Investing in People and Skills" of the EUSDR and how can EUSDR cooperation create added value and support national systems?

The 10th Stakeholder Conference will provide participants with opportunities to discuss challenges and priorities for effective approaches to education, training and labour market policies and related projects to empower young people.

The conference will build upon substantial work within the Priority Area 9 “People and Skills” of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region conducted since 2011. It will bring together European stakeholders, officials and experts from the Danube Region and beyond to take the ongoing debates one step further and discuss current and future actions within Priority Area 9.

Further information regarding the event will be sent to you in due course. Information will also become available under https://peopleandskills.danube-region.eu/.
