News archive - [Call Announcement] CfP: Hiperboreea f(ocuses on the study of Southeastern Europe)
Hiperboreea focuses on the study of Southeastern Europe, broadly defined as the states situated in the Balkan region. The journal is published biannually by the Balkan History Association. Without limiting its scope to a specific historical period or approach, Hiperboreea covers a wide range of topics, such as Cultural History, Political History, Military History, Social History, Economic History and Archaeology, and encourages work on any historical period and interdisciplinary background.
Hiperboreea is published by the Pennsylvania State University Press. Manuscripts must not have been published, nor submitted for publication, or available on the Internet, elsewhere. Interdisciplinary work is particularly welcome. Articles should not exceed 8,000 words in length including notes and references. The Editors may be willing to consider longer articles of up to 9,000 words, but authors should be aware that this extends only to articles of the highest quality where a longer treatment is essential to the subject and argument. All articles should be accompanied by an abstract of up to 150 words. Articles and comprehensive short review essays will be peer-reviewed (double blind peer-review). Book reviews should be approximately 1,000 to 1,200 words in length. Manuscripts should be written in a clear and concise style. Where contributions are judged as acceptable for publication on the basis of content, the editors reserve the right to modify the text to eliminate ambiguity or repetition to the benefit of readers.
If you would like to submit a manuscript to Hiperboreea, please visit the Editorial Manager website. For questions regarding submissions, please contact the editor, Mihai Dragnea: mihaidragnea2018@gmail.com.
