News archive - EUBCE 2021 is starting

We are pleased to announce that EUBCE 2021 is officially larger than ever before! With last-minute registrations still-to-come, we have already surpassed our previous record of 1,500 online delegates from across 84 countries.

We are now ready to start with a bang! Monday’s LIVE opening programme will include:

 

  • A plenary session: highlighting the growing need to understand the capacity of our living environment, with an emphasis on carbon capture and storage;
  • An award ceremony: announcing the Linneborn Prize recipient for outstanding contributions to biomass;
  • Addresses & announcements: acknowledging the indispensable role of biomass in the Green Transition; such as Deputy Director of Bioeconomy and Renewable Energy Direction, Benedicte Genthon’s, announcement of the new French bioeconomy policy framework for promoting innovation; and
  • A panel debate: about the need for consensus, innovation, and international collaboration if we are to deliver sustainable bioenergy and achieve a clean energy transition.


Note that the full 5-hours of Monday’s opening programme are Free Admission, including the parallel event Horizon Europe – Actions for bioenergy, biofuel, and renewable fuels by the EC DG Research & Innovation. To actively participate, either purchase conference tickets or register using a Free Visitor’s Pass. The opening programme can also be live-streamed on the EUBCE 2021 website.
