On 18 March, Commissioner Gabriel took part in the “Education Round Table for Albania,” which defined new and innovative study programmes for Albania.
The event was organised by the Modul University Vienna and attended by Dr Lulzim Basha, Chairman of the Democratic Party of Albania, and representatives of several Austrian universities. The Commissioner underlined the role of the Western Balkans Agenda on Innovation, Research, Education, Culture and Youth in promoting inclusive and high quality education and training systems, with a view to offering new opportunities for young people in the region.
Cooperation with the Western Balkans helps the region benefit even more from the relevant EU strategies and networks, notably the new Digital Education Action Plan, the European Education Area and the European Research Area. The Erasmus+ programme 2021-2027 will be key in this endeavour.
