News archive - Review: 9th EUSDR Annual Forum

The 9th Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region held under the Croatian EUSDR Presidency on 22nd October 2020 focused on th ecological, economic and social aspects of sustainable regional development in the Danube Region.

In case you missed it, catch up now with our report summarising the main messages by the Croatian Minister of Regional Development and EU Funds of the Republic of Croatia Nataša Tramišak (see picture above), EU Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms Elisa Ferreira, Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia Andrej Plenković and all keynote speakers! Also, presentations of the different thematic panels are available on the website of the Croatian EUSDR Presidency now.

The Ministerial Meeting held in the framework of the 9th Annual Forum was chaired by Mr. Gordan Grlić Radman, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia. In the Joint Statement adopted, the Ministers responsible for the EU Strategy for the Danube Region underlined their determination to respond to changes and promote strong recovery measures in the face of the COVID-19 crisis. They welcomed the new EUSDR Governance Architecture Paper elaborated under the Croatian EUSDR Presidency and expressed their support for the EUSDR Embedding process and for EUSDR activities in fostering the EU enlargement process.

Furthermore, the Interreg Danube Transnational Programme presented their priorities for the upcoming programming period 2021-2027 based on the Territorial Analysis carried out by the Central European Service for Cross-Border Initiatives (CESCI) in 2019. EUSDR National Coordinators discussed with representatives of Managing Authorities from the Danube Region how to best coordinate EUSDR priorities with available funding sources in the upcoming programming period.

Finally, the 7th Danube Participation Day held back-to-back with the Annual Forum on 21st October 2020, was the perfect opportunity to present the Draft Guidance Paper for Youth Participation in the Danube Region!
