News archive - OECD overview of the COVID-19 crisis in the Western Balkans
The OECD has been working with South East Europe (SEE) since 2000 to ensure peace, stability and prosperity in a region weakened by conflict, but endowed with rich resources and dynamism. Governments, business leaders and civil society have worked together under the leadership of the OECD to meet economic challenges, including weathering the global economic and financial crisis and preparing for European Union accession.
In face of the new challenges posed by the COVID-19 outbreak, OECD has prepared a regional note on the economic impact, policy responses, and short-term sustainable solutions for the COVID-19 crisis in the Western Balkans.
The note explores the impact of this crisis on SMEs, tourism, employment and labour markets in the Western Balkans, as well as impact on education, trade and investment.
In addition to the regional note, OECD has prepared and published an overview on the impact, policy reactions and general outlook for each of the six Western Balkan economies.
