News archive - [Document Announcement] Commission publishes results of consultation on Horizon Europe implementation issues

During its co-design process for Horizon Europe, the European Commission carried out an open web consultation on the implementation of Horizon Europe between 31 July 2019 and 4 October 2019. A total of 1,549 answers from 64 countries has been received. A second activity covered meetings and exchanges at the European Research and Innovation Days (24 - 26 September 2019).

On 26 November 2019, a report was published presenting the combined results of an overview of comments and ideas received on the different areas of the implementation strategy. The results will feed into the current work on the actual drafting of the Implementation Strategy.

The main messages can be summarised as follows:

  • There is a global call for further simplification under Horizon Europe.
  • Respondents also underline the importance of establishing a transparent and trust-based system.
  • Many comments state the importance of appropriate communication and feedback to applicants and beneficiaries.
  • Last but not least, respondents demonstrate a strong interest in the implementation of the novelties of Horizon Europe, especially regarding Missions and the EIC.
