News archive - EU-Serbia Stabilisation and Association Council, 18/12/2018

The Stabilisation and Association Council reviewed the state of EU-Serbia bilateral relations.

It took stock of Serbia's progress in the preparations for membership in the light of the Commission's 2018 report. A number of negotiating chapters have been opened since the last SA Council, bringing the total number of chapters opened to 16, two of which have been provisionally closed.

The SA Council also discussed bilateral relations under the Stabilisation and Association Agreement and the state of play of the implementation of the agreement.

There was also an exchange of views on developments in the Western Balkans.
