News archive - [Event Review] Steering Platform on Research and Innovation, 25 June 2018, Brussels

On 25 June 2018, this year's Steering Platform on Research and Innovation and  Ministerial Meeting was held back-to-back with the Steering Platform on Education and Training. Ministers from Western Balkan countries reported on their progress in upgrading their research and innovation policy framework and on their preparation or implementation of their smart specialisation processes. Furthermore, representatives of centres of excellences from the Western Balkans introduced their achievements. The European Commission, represented by Commissioner Carlos Moedas, introduced its proposal to the next research and innovation framework programme "Horizon Europe" which will further enhance the integration of Western Balkan countries into European knowledge flows and scientific communities.
