The three winners of the EU Prize for Women Innovators 2014 are found!

After a successful first edition in 2011, the European Commission awards the second edition of the EU Prize for Women Innovators to three women who have achieved outstanding innovations and brought them to market.

Photo of Saskia Biskup The first prize winner is Saskia Biskup (Germany), co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of CeGaT GmbH, a leading biotech company for diagnostic gene panels, a major step forward in diagnosing patients with rare diseases.

 

 

 

Photo of Laura van 't Veer The second prize winner is Laura van 't Veer (The Netherlands), co-founder and Chief Research Officer at Agendia NV, a leading personalized health company creating diagnostic tests that foretells the risk of recurrence for breast cancer patients.

 

 

 

Photo of Ana Maiques The third prize winner is Ana Maiques (Spain), co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Starlab, a leading research and innovation company focused on the space and neuroscience industries based in Barcelona.

 

 

 

The first prize is EUR 100 000, second prize EUR 50 000 and the third prize EUR 25 000.

The three winners will be awarded during the Innovation Convention in March 2014!

More about the Competition

» Who could apply?

Every woman innovator complying with the following criteria:

  • You are residing in an EU Member State or in a country associated to the Research Framework Programme.

  • You are the founder or co-founder of an existing and active company.

  • Your company must have been registered before 1 January 2011.

  • The annual turnover of the company must have been minimum EUR 100 000 in 2011 or 2012.

  • Either you or the company you founded/co-founded have received or is receiving funding from the European Union or the European Atomic Energy Community Research Framework Programme, or from the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP).
