Applications to the European University Institute’s (EUI) Doctoral Programmes in Economics, History and Civilization, Law and Political and Social Sciences are now open. The deadline for submitting applications for the academic year 2014/2015 is 31 January 2014.

The EUI is a unique academic institution with one of the world’s largest doctoral and postdoctoral programmes in the social sciences. Our intellectual community comprises of more than 1000 scholars from over 60 countries. Located in Florence, Italy, the EUI offers a structured doctoral programme with excellent supervision and opportunities to participate in cutting-edge research that transcends national academic traditions.

Since its establishment 40 years ago, the Institute has been committed to fostering the advancement of research in fields which are of particular interest for the development of Europe. The EUI is proud of bringing together top academics from all over the world in an international research and teaching environment to train the next generation of scholars and provide them with the theoretical and applied skills needed for successful careers in leading universities, research-oriented organisations, international organisations and government agencies.

Organisers are looking for highly motivated and qualified candidates to further complement the already outstanding quality of our current scholars. Grants for doctoral candidates are available.
