News archive - Final call for papers for the inaugural European Conference on Social Media ECSM 2014

This is a Final call for papers for the inaugural European Conference on Social Media ECSM 2014 which is being held at the University of Brighton, UK on the 10-11 July 2014. The closing date for abstract submission is 19 December.

Academic research, case studies and work-in-progress/posters are welcomed approaches. PhD Research, Masters Research, proposals for roundtable discussions, non-academic contributions and product demonstrations based on the main themes are also invited. Please feel free to circulate this message to any colleagues or contacts you think may be interested.

Keynotes are now confirmed for John Traxler, University of Wolverhampton, UK; David Gurteen, Gurteen Knowledge Community, UK and Farida Vis, University of Sheffield, UK  

Following mini tracks are envisaged:

  • eParticipation and Democracy co-chaired by Darren P. Mundy, University of Hull, UK and Tobias Bevc, University of Augsburg , Germany
  • Social media and innovation co-chaired by Dr Luisa Carvalho, Open University, Lisbon, Portugal and Dr Irina Purcarea, Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Romania
  • Social Informatics chaired by Dr Blooma John, RMIT University, Vietnam
  • Social Network Analysis chaired by Dr Sandra Moffett, University of Ulster’s School of Computing and Intelligent Systems, Magee Campus, UK

Following a double-blind peer review process, those Papers accepted for presentation will be published in the conference proceedings subject to author registration and payment.

Papers that have been presented at the conference will also be considered for publication in a number of high quality journals, including

Electronic Journal of Knowledge Management published by ACPIL, ISSN 1479-4411 (www.ejkm.com ).

The International Journal of Social Media and Interactive Learning Environments published by Inderscience, ISSN online: 2050-3962 ISSN print: 2050-3954.

The Proceedings have an ISBN and will be submitted for indexing in the Thompson Web of Science and Scopus.
