News archive - [Event Announcement] Workshop "Added value of macro-regional cooperation" Open Days 2013

As part of the programme of the Open Days in Brussels, a workshop on added value of macro-regional cooperation will take place on 8 October 2013 . The evidence gained through the evaluation report on implementation of the macro-re­gional strategies (EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region and the EU Strategy for the Danube Region) and conclusions drawn by the key implementing stakeholders will be shared with the audience. The workshop will showcase synergies, operational practices and experiences gath­ered with a view to upcom­ing initiatives.

The workshop will address the added value of macro-regional cooperation.
Evidence gained through the Evaluation Report on implementation of the macro-regional strategies (EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region and the EU Strategy for the Danube Region) and conclusions drawn by the key implementing stakeholders will be shared. There are strengths and open issues identified to be dealt with for more effective implementation of the strategies. Thus, the workshop will showcase synergies, operational practices and experiences gathered with respect to upcoming initiatives. The added value of a macro-regional framework in more coherent territorial development will be tackled.
