News archive - [Call for Applications] Postgraduate course Economy and Democracy, Inter University Centre, Dubrovnik, 22-27 September

The Postgraduate course on Economy and Democracy will be held from 22 to 27 September 2013 in the Inter University Centre (IUC) in Dubrovnik, Croatia. IUC is an independent international institution for advanced studies structured as a consortium of universities with a mission to organise and promote contact and exchange through projects, study programmes, courses and conferences across a wide range of scientific concerns.

The postgraduate course on Economy and Democracy offers a five days program based on the nterdisciplinary approach to selected topics in the field of sociology, constitutional law, international private law, commercial law, labour and social law, and general theory of law and state. More info on the course find at: http://www.iuc.hr/course-details.php?id=785 Eligibility: In order to be accepted to the course participants must be Ph.D. students or persons that have already received the Ph.D. from legal and social sciences, preferably working in academic and research institutions. The experts from either governmental bodies or NGO sector are also invited to take part in the program.

Application:

In order to apply for the course, fill in on line application form at: http://www.iuc.hr/programme-application-form.php?progType=course&progId=785. Participants that will be covering their own travel and accommodation costs will be informed on the acceptance.

Scholarships:

Several scholarships covering travel costs and accommodation costs are available for participants from Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, Kyrgyzstan, FYR of Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Republic of Georgia, Russia, Serbia, and Ukraine.

Participants that will be granted the scholarship need to fulfill following requirements: they need to be PhD students or young faculty members under the age of 40 who are studying or working in fields of humanities and social sciences originating from the above mentioned countries.

In case you are applying for a scholarship, please register on line and send in addition a short curriculum vitae, a statement of purpose (max. one page describing the reasons for participating in the course and requesting financial support) and a reference letter (in case of graduate students a reference letter from their advisors is required, whereas in case of a faculty member a reference letter from the head of department is required).
