AS THE APPLICATIONS FOR ERMA SHOULD BE RECEIVED IN THE PERIOD 28.08.2013-10.09.2013 ALL INTERESTED CANDIDATES SHOULD START COLLECTING THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS IMMEDIATELY

The European Regional Master’s Degree in Human Rights and Democracy in South East Europe (ERMA) is intending to launch the call for applications for A.Y. 2013-2014 pending the finalization of necessary administrative procedures and the securing of funds. ERMA is an intensive one-year Master program established through the joint efforts of the participating Universities and coordinated by the Universities of Sarajevo and Bologna. At present it is in its twelfth year of implementation. The Program is co-financed by the European Commission and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Italy through its UTL/DGCS offices and the Embassy of the Republic of Italy in Belgrade. It is a double degree MA program: one diploma is issued by the University of Sarajevo and one by the University of Bologna. Each academic year the Program enrolls 30 students from the countries of South East Europe and the European Union. Starting from a.y. 2011-2012 applications from the Caucasus and Russia are also accepted.

The Master Programme awards 60ECTS and is structured in three terms/two semesters – I) November 2013 – June 2014: Lecturing period at the University of Sarajevo (semester I); II) June – July 2014: Internship work across South East Europe and III) September – October 2014: Master’s Theses writing-up period at the University of Bologna (semester II). The Program offers study grants to students coming from the target countries covering living and travel expenses.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

(English language originals/certified translations only)

1.     ERMA application form filled in and signed,

2.     University diploma-certified copy;

3.     Academic record/transcripts-original or a certified copy;

4.     Evidence (certificate of proficiency etc.) of the knowledge of the English language;

5.    Passport photocopy;

6.     Certificate of citizenship; translated, original or certified photocopy

7.     Birth certificate translated; translated, original or certified photocopy

8.     Curriculum Vitae (CV) –European format

9.     Two recommendation letters (to be submitted in sealed envelopes)

NB: ALL DIPLOMAS ISSUED BY UNIVERSITIES FROM COUNTRIES OTHER THAN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA NEED TO UNDERGO THE PROCESS OF RECOGNITION AT THE RESPECTIVE FACULTIES/DEPARTMENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF SARAJEVO AT THE MOMENT OF ENROLMENT.

Interested candidates should submit the filled in application form and all other required documentation to the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies of the University of Sarajevo via regular mail or in person. Late and incomplete applications will not be taken into consideration.
