News archive - [Event Announcement] ZAGREB FORUM 2013 on CREATIVE Cities and EUROPE

The City of Zagreb, the Development Agency Zagreb and GFS Institute are organising the 1st international conference ZAGREB FORUM 2013 on CREATIVE Cities and EUROPE, in Zagreb (Croatia) on the 12th and 13th of March, 2013.

Within global competition cities need to win investors and create more and better jobs. The exploitation of creative industries, which have high, but often unrecognised potentials, contributes to the fulfillment of the Lisbon objectives on local levels. Through the organization of this major international conference, the City of Zagreb hopes to bring its cultural policy one step further by addressing the challenges faced by other EU cities. 

The event will bring together experts from the fields of the triple helix “university, industry, government” focusing on the exchange of experience in the field of open innovation in creative industries.

The Conference will also provide networking opportunities for those promoting Creative City initiatives locally and internationally. The event will serve as a platform for economic collaboration and the development of innovative and best practices, focusing on the local economic effect of the creative industries as well as promoting a closer connection between creative cities.

 

The conference objectives are:

  1. discuss global challenges and effective governance models for development of European and Croatian creative industries
  2. enable and encourage good practice cases and sustainable cooperation among different stakeholders, who will influence and develop various projects
  3. promote entrepreneurial skills and competitiveness of creative industries, creating positive climate attracting different investments and exchanging know how
