News archive - [Event Review] Mobile AppCamp successfully held in Skopje
End of November 2012 the Mobile AppCamp in Skopje, FYR of Macedonia brought together developers and start-ups with business incubator managers, accelerators, investors and international tech experts with an aim to advance the development of commercial mobile applications. Widened and deepened skills of attendees for enabling them to get ready for international markets Mobile AppCamp is an initiative of ECAbit (Eastern European and Central Asian Business Incubators and Technology Parks Network), financed by infoDev, a World Bank partnership program. YES Foundation, a business incubator in Skopje, organized this two-parts event: (1) Developing entrepreneurial skills and (2) Developing mobile applications with the help of mobile developers and business experts.
The event recorded a massive interest resulting in participation of 114 young people from FYR Macedonia, Bulgaria, Albania, Kosovo*, Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania and Ukraine, who formed 49 teams and presented their apps at the grand finale on the last day of the event. The Overall Winner at the event was the team of iDERMA (Croatia) who won S4S Fellowship, participation at Mobile Monday Budapest and Alcatel One Touch. The application awarded for the Best Functionality was Carosel App (FYR of Macedonia) and got the award StorCenter™ ix2 Network Storage. Hook (Montenegro) were awarded with Black Berry test phone for the Best Design of the application. The Best Concept award (eGo® Portable Hard Drive,SuperSpeed USB 3.0,1TB.) went to Baby App (Serbia) and the team awarded by Game Founders for the Best Gaming App was x3m-games (FYR of Macedonia).
