News archive - [Event Announcement] Croatian-German Energy Conference, Leipzig

In cooperation with the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations and supported by the BMWi, the International Dialogue Centre Environment and Development (IDCED) and Stiftung Besser Leben (Foundation for the promotion of conservation, art and environmental technologies) are organising the Croatian-German Energy Conference - to be held in Leipzig on November 6, 2012. In the context of the forthcoming EU accession of Croatia, representatives from politics and business in both countries will discuss concepts, frameworks and cooperation potentials related to energy efficiency and renewable energy in Croatia.

In 2013 Croatia will join the European Union. Ahead of the accession, the conference will highlight the Croatian market potential in the fields of energy efficiency and renewable energies. It encourages German enterprises to participate in the implementation of the Croatian national energy programme and the stabilization of the energy industry in Southeastern Europe. The objective of the conference is to illustrate the political strategy of Croatia for the further improvement of the energy efficiency of the economy as well as private consumption. It will show the opportunities for intensified utilization of renewable energy sources and impart the expertise of German enterprises to translate policy into technical solutions. Special attention will be directed to necessary efforts in the scope of infrastructure development and project implementation.
