News archive - [Event Announcement] Researchers' Night 2012 in Montenegro - 28 September 2012

The Researchers Night in Montenegro 2012 project will continue the success story of the Nights 2009, 2010 and 2011, organized by the consortium, Ministry of Science, Natural History Museum of Montenegro, and the Montenegrin Science Promotion Foundation PRONA in bridging the gap between the researchers and wider public.

All events will take place on Friday, 28 September, from 12:00 24:00, with the central events (Hands-on-experiments, Science and Art installations, Gala opening, Movie projections, Presentation of interdisciplinary and inter-generational workshops (Culture, Geography, Physics and Chemistry of Food and Health) Open science show, Astronomical workshop, Science kindergarten, Concert) will take place in Podgorica at three sites (Museums and Galleries, Art Pavilion, Karver) at Ribnica river bank while a series of smaller scale activities would happen in at three other towns in Montenegro (Botanical garden - Kolaain, Milk Diary - Nikai and Institute of Marine Biology Kotor).

Target groups of the projects are: high school students, university students, young people in general, preschool children, elementary school pupils, parents, school authorities and teachers, media and general public. It is planned to have at least 3500 of direct participants, and to cover at 40% of Montenegrin population or 250000 people with awareness campaign. At least 200 people, from which 50 researchers coming from different sectors and fields of research, will implement the Researchers Nights activities.

The main aim of 2012 project is to fulfil the goal of this EU - Marie Curie action that is to enhance the role of researchers in the mainstream of the society. Project Researchers Night is fun, educational and unique event that gathers general population and researchers from academic institutions, the business sector, various NGOs, governmental institutions, international agencies, including guests from around the region and young-talent programs.

The events will held in three cities: Kolasin, Niksic and Podgorica.
