The  EIP  aims  to  ensure  sustainable  access  to  raw  materials  for  Europe  by  promoting innovation  along  the  entire  value  chain.  With  ever-increasing  global  demand  for  raw materials, it is essential that Europe develops innovative solutions to maintain competiveness and  provide  jobs  and  growth  for  its  citizens.  For  more  information,  please  consult  the following  website:  http://ec.europa.eu/enterprise/policies/raw-materials/innovation-partnership/index_en.htm

The  HLSG  will  be  composed  of  around  25  individuals  and  will  develop  the  strategic implementation plan (SIP) of the EIP. The OGs will provide expert advice and convert the SIP into more detailed tasks and actions. A Sherpa Group will provide the link between the orientation  level  of  the  HLSG  and  the  planning/implementation  level  of  the  OGs.  More information on the composition and responsibilities of the different groups can be found in the
Staff  Working  Document  (http://ec.europa.eu/enterprise/policies/raw-materials/files/docs/staff_working_document_final_en.pdf).

The six Member States representatives and the EIB/EIF representative in the HLSG will be directly invited by the European Commission to participate.

This call concerns the other categories of stakeholders:

NB:  Interested  parties  will  only  be  nominated  when  the  Council  and  European  Parliament have endorsed the EIP.

For the High Level Steering Group, applicants must meet the specific criteria layed out in the call, e.g. they should be CEOs of EU industries, NGO representatives, high-level representatives  of  research  organisations  or  networks  of  regions  (including,  for example, ERA-NET, European geological surveys, European Technology Platforms).

Applications  (in  English,  French  or  German)  should  be  submitted  to  entr-eip-raw-materials@ec.europa.eu by the very latest on 28 September 2012, and include  a  one-page  covering  letter  explaining  how  your  professional  background  meets  the criteria, including any supporting recommendations and a CV of maximum two pages, preferably in Europass format.
