German Federal Environmental Foundation (DBU)

The Foundation offers two different scholarship programmes:

Doctoral Scholarship Programme

60 scholarships per year for new doctoral candidates
Doctorate to be undertaken at a German University (Applications are welcomed from foreign students to study at a German University)
Length of up to 36 months

International Scholarship Programme

For further practical qualifications and experience after graduation
For university graduates from Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Kaliningrad, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia.
Research internships at institutes, private firms, government departments or ministries, non-governmental organisations etc.
No support for doctoral candidates
Length of 6 – 12 months
