The SmartWB training school will be held in Dubrovnik, Croatia, from May 9 to 11, 2023, at the Centre for Advanced Academic Studies of University of Zagreb. The training school aims to provide capacity building of WB HEIs teaching staff through a theme-based training on acquiring new practical skills for curricula innovation in climate-smart urban development based on green and energy efficiency with the non-academic sector.
The training in Dubrovnik is a three-day program that aims to bridge the skills gap between the supply and demand of education and training in the digital revolution era. The training will be held at the Centre for Advanced Academic Studies (CAAS) in Dubrovnik, and the first day's sessions will cover topics such as the digital revolution in education, Bologna process for curriculum development, and using mobile phones as educational tools for city noise mapping.
On the second day, the program will continue with a session on problem-based learning, combined with involvement of business stakeholders in educational processes, as one of the solutions to cope with changes. The session will be followed by a presentation of Smart cities, including the concept, approaches, solutions, and the impact of climate change on it. The second day will end with a practical exercise on noise measurement in the surrounding area of CAAS.
The third and final day of the program will cover mobile phones as an educational tool, with a focus on the noise map creation process, and the results of noise registration in Dubrovnik. The training will conclude with a session on education for sustainable development and Smart cities, and a general discussion, followed by conclusions and closing remarks.
