EuroSkills Gdańsk 2023 is the eighth edition of the EuroSkills Competition.
Poland will organise EuroSkills for the first time.
EuroSkills Gdańsk 2023 is the eighth edition of the biennial EuroSkills Competition – the biggest vocational education and skills excellence event in Europe.
Held every two years and organised by WorldSkills Europe together with 32 Member Countries, EuroSkills brings together hundreds of young professionals from countries across Europe to compete for the chance to become the Best in Europe in their chosen skill.
EuroSkills Gdańsk 2023 will welcome 600 skilled young professionals under the age of 25 from 32 countries to participate in competitions and demonstrations in 43 different skills and trades. Around 100,000 visitors from across Poland and abroad are expected to attend.
Visitors to the free-admission Competition will be able to watch the competitors in action and have the opportunity to try hands-on job-related skills at the many ‘Try-a-Skill’ demonstrations. The tens of thousands of school-aged young people who visit will be encouraged to turn their passions into a profession.
EuroSkills Gdańsk 2023 is organised in partnership by Poland’s Foundation For The Development Of The Education System (FRSE), WorldSkills Poland, WorldSkills Europe, the City of Gdańsk and AMBEREXPO Gdańsk.
Competitors
Competitors at EuroSkills represent the best of their peers nationally and are selected to compete at EuroSkills after taking part in national competitions held in WorldSkills Europe Member countries. At EuroSkills, Competitors must demonstrate technical abilities both individually and collectively to execute specific tasks for the skills they are studying and will perform in the future. EuroSkills Competitors are challenged to complete a test project or series of projects within strict time frames over the course of three days. The projects demand complex technical knowledge and capabilities that the young people are learning and mastering through their studies and work-place training.
Experts
WorldSkills Europe Experts are a critical part of the EuroSkills eco-system. Each of the 43 skills competitions at EuroSkills requires a dedicated team of specialist Experts, Workshop Managers and other volunteers in order to be held. WorldSkills Europe Experts represent their Member country, sharing their experience in a skill, trade, or technology.
Schedule
The 8th EuroSkills Competition will take place in Gdańsk in 2023 from 5 to 9 September. The Opening Ceremony will be held on 5 September at Polsat Plus Arena Gdańsk. The Competition will run for three days, from 6 to 8 September at AMBEREXPO Gdańsk).
The Closing Ceremony will be held on 9 September at Polsat Plus Arena Gdańsk.
