The digital transformation and rapid technological developments are influencing all areas of society - including municipalities. Especially small municipalities with very limited human and financial resources are facing great challenges here – and it is precisely these limited resources that often hinder innovative projects in municipalities and smaller towns, although many experts see great potential in these communities in particular.

With this webinar, the organisers want to give an insight into current European initiatives, present some good practice examples and give an overview of the funding landscape. Above all, however, they want to encourage smaller cities and municipalities to initiate innovative and smart projects. 

The webinar is an initiative of Priority Area 10 "Institutional Capacity and Cooperation" of the EU Danube Strategy. Priority Area 10 addresses institutional capacity building at local, regional and national level, involvement of civil society and public governance, increasing local development and better spending in accordance to the EU Danube Strategy Action Plan. https://capacitycooperation.danube-region.eu/
