COP27 aims to bring countries together to take forward coordinated climate action as the planet faces unprecedented heatwaves, fires and floods.
Although the EU is a leader in climate ambition, Europe won’t achieve global climate neutrality alone. Keeping average global temperature rise to 1.5°C requires urgent action on a planetary scale. We have no time left to delay further - the EU will lead the call at COP27 for all parties to take urgent action on cutting greenhouse gas emissions further and faster before 2030, adapting to the inevitable consequences of climate change we expect in the coming decades.
