Introducing the novel web portal of the ‘European Regional Democracy Map’ (ERDM), we will
discuss the state of regional democracy, its role in EU governance, and its contribution to
strengthening EU democracy. We involve our audience in a dialogue on these topics by means
of short online polls, providing a platform for the inputs of our speakers from the European
Institutions and academic researchers. The ERDM is an innovative web tool that provides
comprehensive information and data on regional democracy in EU member states for citizens,
analysts, and policy-makers.
Our speakers
Dr. Mark Speich, EPP – Secretary of State of North Rhine-Westphalia, CIVEX Committee
Karl-Heinz Lambertz, PES – President of the Parliament of the German-speaking Community
