10th Anniversary of the Ljubljana Forum on the Future of Cities
Ljubljana Forum is an annual gathering that combines knowledge and experience of city governance and defines key areas, visions and strategies of the future development of cities. The objectives of the Forum are to connect, enable and encourage good practice cases and concrete cooperation among different stakeholders.
Enabling prosperity of cities means creating synergies between Foresight and Urban & Territorial Planning, which was a driving force behind foundation of the Ljubljana Forum in 2011. Two founders of Ljubljana Forum, namely Mr. Blaž GOLOB, Director of the GFS - GoForeSight Institute, and Mr. Miran GAJŠEK, Chief Urban Planner of the City of Ljubljana, created this European & global wide platform of various stakeholders that are important for bringing about prosperity of our cities. Ljubljana Forum is an international gathering of city mayors and city leaders, The Millennium Project, Regional Cooperation Council, European Commission and European Parliament, European Investment Bank, government representatives, industry representatives, R&D and University representatives and civil society partners. From the very beginning, partners of Ljubljana Forum are creating the evolving model of the ''City of the Future''.
In 2021, the Ljubljana Forum will celebrate ten years of its operation. During the discussion "WHAT’S NEXT?" trends will be presented for cities until 2030 following challenging years in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.
