Event date

Venue
Brussels
Country
Belgium
Short description

On the backdrop of the EU green deal and the Urban Agenda for the EU, Europe is now working on an ambitious strategy to become the first climate-neutral continent, and ensuring liveability, prosperity and well-being for all people in the process. To reach these ambitious goals, urban transformations play a crucial role. Without getting neighbourhoods, towns, municipalities, cities and urban areas right, a great number of efforts will be lost.

Description

JPI Urban Europe now steps up the game to be the driver of urban transitions and to support capacity building on all levels to realise the required transformations!

On 12 November 2020 you are invited to JPI Urban Europe's 5th policy conference in Brussels. The conference is a forum to exchange on the opportunities for, and needs of, cities and urban municipalities in the coming transformation.

Be inspired and take part in discussions that:
  >> Highlight good practice examples
  >> Reflect achievements of research and innovation projects
  >> Showcase how to enhance impact, replication and peer-to-peer learning across
       Europe and beyond
  >> Focus on how to connect research and innovation with local action

Learn and contribute with your experience on dilemmas and integrated development issues related to urban energy transitions, circular economy and sustainable urban mobility as key areas for urban transformation. Together, JPI Urban Europe and participants will prioritise and prepare actions for the upcoming years.

On 11 November JPI Urban Europe organises a warm-up AGORA event to this conference. At this event we invite you to participate in an interactive stakeholder dialogue open to all passionate urban practitioners, change makers and people who want to engage in inspiring exercises and exchanges.
More information on the AGORA event and the conference programme will be provided in due course.
