European Radon Week 2020
The European Radon Week 2020 will combine three workshops and is addressed to national authorities, the scientific radon community, industry and all other experts interested in radon. The European Radon Week will give an overview of the work and research done in Europe, especially in the field of harmonisation of radon measurement methods, radon priority areas, mapping and communicating radon data. Invited experts will present results and experiences, but much time will be reserved for discussions.
Workshops
Attendees can participate either in one, two or all three workshops.
- European Radon Association (ERA) Workshop "Radon Research in Europe", 24 February 2020
The ERA workshop will highlight radon research efforts in Europe. Radon research project leaders will present their projects. Also, the workshop will provide the opportunity to discuss future research needs. - MetroRADON Workshop "Harmonisation of radon measurement methodologies and radon priority areas - results of the MetroRADON project", 25 - 26 February 2020
The overall objective of the EMPIR-project “MetroRADON-Metrology for Radon monitoring” project is to enable traceable monitoring at low radon activity concentrations in support of the European Council directive 2013/59/EURATOM (EU-BSS). In this workshop the results of the project will be presented and discussed, focusing on the comparison and harmonization of radon surveys, measurement methodologies and concepts and methodologies for radon priority areas in Europe. Also, the influence of thoron on radon measurements will be addressed. - Joint Research Centre (JRC), European Commission Workshop "Technical solutions for displaying and communicating indoor radon data", 27 - 28 February 2020
The JRC Workshop aims at discussing technical solutions applied in mapping indoor radon data and communicating the results to the population (website, etc.) and at exploring possible harmonization of these solutions at the European level.
