To share your point of view on the societal challenges that need to be addressed – or better – solved, by 2025, #AttractYoung hackathon is organised to find solutions to the challenges of the future with the use of detectors and imaging technologies (in their broadest sense).

Description

Are you in your 20/30s? Open-minded, collaborative and driven to solve societal challenges? From any gender, cultural background, nationality or study program (from physics, engineering, medicine to design & arts and social sciences (e.g. economics, anthropology, psychology etc.)? Then you are the one #AttractYoung is looking for!

To share your point of view on the societal challenges that need to be addressed – or better – solved, by 2025,  #AttractYoung hackathon is organised to find solutions to the challenges of the future with the use of detectors and imaging technologies (in their broadest sense). The best applicants will be divided into international interdisciplinary teams that will get support by carefully selected coaches and the group of detector experts.

The deadline for submitting your idea is March 15th.

Up to 10 #AttractYoung participants selected by the Evaluation Panel will be awarded a 5-day visit to CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) / ESRF (European Synchrotron Radiation Facility) to further brainstorm on their ideas. All expenses will be paid.

Submit your idea even if you are not very familiar with these issues!

 

#AttractYoung organisers: Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste - Italian CERIC Representing Entity, AREA Science Park, INFN Trieste - National Institute of Nuclear Physics, in collaboration with the ATTRACT initiative. Some of Europe’s scientific leaders – including CERN, the European Southern Observatory, the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility, the European Molecular Biology Laboratory, the European X-ray free-electron laser, the Institut Laue-Langevin, the European Industrial Research Management Association – are joining forces together with other organizations to create new products, companies and jobs.
