Short description

The Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission is inviting you to the Workshop on Investment Vehicles and Financial Instruments supporting Technology Transfer and Innovation, with focus on the Danube Region and the Western Balkan countries, on 1 and 2 March 2017 in Belgrade, Serbia. The objectives of the workshop are to identify existing financial instruments that support innovation and technology transfer activities in the region, explore where the evident gaps exist, and explore ways to address currently unmet demand using synergistic solutions. The workshop also aims to strengthen and cement an emerging community of practice on these issues that should help to maximise the impact of innovation on regional development. This is one of the first follow-up activities of the Macro-Regional Innovation Week held in Trieste, 26-30 September 2016.

Description

The workshop is divided into two days:

  • Day 1: EU and International Initiatives;
  • Day 2: Regional Ecosystems and Actors – the afternoon will be divided into four round tables: eco-industry, creative industries, agri-food industry and biotech industry for structured discussions.

The registration is open until 24 February 2017 and participants that would require and are eligible for reimbursement** need to register before 9 February 2017.  Please note that the places are limited and we will confirm your registration at the beginning of February 2017.
(**Nationals from the following countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo*, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, Ukraine, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Turkey may apply for waiving accommodation and travel costs. However, given budget restrictions, this will be granted on a case by case basis and those concerned will be notified with the acceptance letter.)
