Short description

Data drives good management and increasingly the economy. The open data movement not only helps the free flow of data within and between organisations, but also can aid innovation, transparency and growth. Within this context, the JRC and partners in the Danube region have established the Danube Reference Data and Services Infrastructure (DRDSI); an open data infrastructure in support of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR). By bringing together heterogeneous stakeholders, the DRDSI leads to technological innovation and triggers public sector modernisation.

Description

The workshop will outline the benefits of open data and showcase the results of the DRDSI. This will be followed by flash presentations covering stakeholders’ experiences and the opportunities they see related to open data and innovation. The session will close with an open mic, where the audience will be given the opportunity to propose additional topics for further investigation.
