Short description

For the fifth year in a row, Bosnia and Herzegovina celebrates European Researcher’s Night, a unique  entertaining night of science and research, under the slogan “Discover the unknown”. This year, the event will be held on 30th September, in five towns of Bosnia and Herzegovina – Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Mostar, Bijeljina and Goražde.

All interested are invited to join and discover the unknown!

If you wish to contribute and participate in the event, there are few ways to get involved:

1.    All institutions, organisations, companies and individuals dealing with science, research and innovations are invited to register for participation in the European Researcher’s Night in one of the five towns. They can present their work through science fair, science corner or competition for secondary schools, where idea, innovation, creativity and originality will be most credited.

Deadline for registration is 20th September 2016.

You can find out more on conditions and how to register on the web site of European Researchers Night in BiH www.nocistrazivaca.ba.

2.    Competition for the best story on the issue “Discover the Unknown”, organised in cooperation with www.ljepotaizdravlje.ba portal. Anyone with the passion for writing can apply – your interesting stories about things, life, discoveries you had or are for now only a product of your imagination – are welcome!

3.    Competition for the best drawing of the European Researchers Night mascots Aleksa and NI-a, organised in cooperation with Association “Second angle” (Drugi ugao).
Deadline for submissions for both calls is 20th  September 2016.

More information on the two competitions can be found on the following link: http://www.ljepotaizdravlje.ba/lifestyle/kultura/evropska-noc-istrazivaca-u-bih-2016-crtajte-pisite-zabavite-se-osvojte-vrijedne-nagrade

As in the previous years, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy many fun and educational activities during the European Researchers Night, such as interactive experiments, lectures, and games, as well as science party at the finish of the night.

Researcher’s Night was initiated in 2005, under the European Union FP7 programme and is organised each last Friday in September, aiming to promote science and research, science careers, as well as to raise awareness on influence of research on our every day lives.

Since its start, Researchers Night is marked in more cities in Europe each year, while in 2015, the event was held in over 280 cities of 30 European states.

Since 2014 “Researchers Night” became “European Researchers Night” under the Horizon 2020 programme.
