Science with and for Societywill help build effective cooperation between science and society, to recruit new talent for science and to pair scientific excellence with social awareness and responsibility” (Science with and for Society Work Programme 2014-2015).

The networking event will be of particular interest and relevance to members of the Science with and for Society research community who are looking for networking and funding opportunities within Horizon 2020. It will be mainly targeted at the researchers and other stakeholders preparing for the first and second calls of Horizon 2020 relevant to the Science with and for Society.This event is organized by SiS.net, the international network of National Contact Points (NCPs) in the field of Science with and for Society in cooperation with the European Commission.

Description

Main Objective and Focus

The main objective of the Science with and for Society networking event is to provide first-hand information by the European Commission officials about the first Horizon 2020 Science with and for Society 2014-2015 calls, launched on the 11th December 2013, and to bring all stakeholders together (universities, research institutions, civil society organisations, SMEs, public bodies, Science Centres etc.), in order to meet potential coordinators and partners in a fruitful networking environment.

In particular, at the Science with and for Society information event, participants will receive information on the following research areas:

  • Making science education and careers attractive for young people (SEAC*);
  • Promoting gender equality in research and innovation (GERI*);
  • Integrating society in science and innovation (ISSI*);
  • Developing governance for the advancement of responsible research and innovation (GARRI*)

The brokerage event, which will take place during the second part of the day, will be an ideal opportunity to find international partners for collaborative research, at pre-arranged 20 minute face-to-face meetings. To participate, you simply need to register, specify some information about yourself, your institution and your project idea and make it available online.
