Short description

Horizon 2020 Strategy Workshop with a focus on the important areas of science communication and the maximisation of projects’ impact on policy and decision making in Europe.

Description

city2science and EURIDA Research Management in cooperation with the European Science Events Association (EUSEA) und Wissenschaft im Dialog (WiD) are organising a two-day strategy workshop on HORIZON 2020 and its significance for science communication and policy making.

Besides a general overview of EU strategies underlying HORIZON 2020 the workshop will focus on the subjects of “Social Innovation” and “Responsible Research and Innovation” as central points in the “Societal Challenges” key pillar. The new funding topic “Science with and for Society”, the successor of FP7’s “Science in Society”, will be introduced.

Hands-on experience and best practice examples for designing successful communication strategies and creating dialogues and strategic alliances with policy makers will complement the workshop portfolio.

In a half-day networking and proposal planning session workshop participants will have the opportunity to present and discuss their project ideas directly with HORIZON 2020 and communication experts for initial assessment and advice.
