Towards Responsible Research and Innovation in the Information and Communication Technologies and Security Technologies Fields
This publication contains a number of articles which have been written by participants in Science in Society-funded projects which are looking at Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI). The projects‟ particular focus is on the issues relating to ethics, privacy and governance that are raised by the development of new ICT and security technologies. These articles aim to “yield insights on how our understanding of privacy may change in the light of these technologies, and how privacy is weighted against other ethical values related to security and practical convenience”.
The publication contains essays on the integration of ethics, policy and innovation in ICT research, and on privacy-related issues in this area. Other articles look at the ethical governance of technologies precaution and privacy impact assessment.
